First, Ellington collectors are probably aware that both of the concerts presented in this 2-cd set last appeared on the Musicmasters label (see London: The Great Concerts and New York Concert - May 20, ).Second, not having heard these discs in their previous incarnations, I don't know if Nimbus Records performed a sonic upgrade (there's nothing in the package indicating remastering), or 4/5(2).

5. Five stars because it's quality Duke. HOWEVER, disregard the other reviews regarding content. This is a 2 CD SET that is a best-of collection from the 10 disc Private Collection. I wish I'd known that, since I'm looking for discs To make it even more confusing, I just found this very review on a page that is actually volumes /5(14).
